Privacy policy
Effective 30 June 2026. This policy explains what OasePark collects, why, how it's protected, and the rights you have over your data.
What we collect
Account data: the email address and hashed password you provide when you sign up. Usage data: the favourites you save and the park suggestions you submit, each linked to your account. Technical data: standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) needed to operate and secure the site, and a small number of functional cookies. We do not ask for your name, address or payment card details.
How we use it
We use your data only to provide the service: to authenticate you, to store your favourites and suggestions, to review and curate submissions, and to keep the site secure and reliable. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising profiling.
Third-party processors
We rely on a small set of providers to run OasePark: Website Holding B.V., which operates our hosting and database infrastructure and acts as merchant of record for any future paid features; Amazon Web Services, which hosts the application and database within the EU; and Google Fonts and OpenStreetMap, which serve fonts and map tiles when you load a page. Each processes data only as needed to provide its service.
Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your account, favourites and suggestions promptly. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and then discarded.
How we protect it
Passwords are stored only as salted scrypt hashes — never in plain text. Connections to the site and to our database are encrypted (HTTPS and TLS), and the database is isolated to OasePark and not shared with other sites.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to receive a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@oasepark.nl and we'll respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Changes & contact
We may update this policy as the service evolves; the effective date above shows the latest version, and material changes will be noted on this page. Questions about privacy? Email privacy@oasepark.nl or use the support page.
